Our business began life as a small market stall in Tavistock Market. The inspiration to set it up came from our frequent visits to Drome Provencal, a region in France just north of the Provence border, where the markets abound with the local produce of the area, including wonderful olives.
It quickly became apparent that there was a significant market for good quality olives in the Tavistock area and the business grew steadily as a consequence. We acquired one of the lockups in the market and our range of produce began to expand. Initially our products, including the olives, were mostly Greek; but having made some interesting contacts we began selling a few products from other parts of the Mediterranean including the Lebanon and North Africa.
In 2010 the opportunity to move into a small shop premises presented itself and we opened for business in August of that year. With the extra room our range of olives, which are still the core of our business, increased and we now sell up to twenty kinds at any one time, both plain and marinated, using our own recipes. On the same olive theme we also stock an interesting range of premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil. We continue to make Humous and Tapenades on the premises as well as preparing our own sundried tomatoes in oil. In the summer months we also prepare Tabbouleh, a delicious and healthy Lebanese salad.
On our shelves around the shop you will find an enticing selection of products from all over the Mediterranean, including N. Africa and the Middle East, and we believe that a visit will always offer something intriguing or surprising to tempt you. Do come and see us!
